THE FIRST EUROPEAN WEEKEND OF ENVIRONMENTAL VOLUNTEERING
The Matilde Pianciani Association opens the doors of the historic villa— a national monument designed by Giuseppe Valadier at the end of the eighteenth century — to host the only Italian event of the Big Green Weekend, promoted by the Conservation Volunteers Alliance (CVA), which brings together the ten most important environmental volunteering organizations in Europe.
On this occasion, an international seminar will be held, with the participation of various figures involved in environmental protection and volunteering. At the same time, volunteers from the British association BTCV will be working among the centuries-old olive groves of the villa, initiating the olive harvest. Journalists will also be able to take part in the event.
An approach to volunteering based on “doing rather than talking,” fostering the conservation and respect of the landscape, as well as care for public health.
